Selling a home with great location? Here’s how you can prove it


Location has long been stated as one of the most important factors to consider when buying a home. What makes a location desirable, though, is extremely subjective. Empty nesters probably aren’t as concerned about the quality of schools while younger couples may desire living within walking distance of dining, shopping and outdoor recreation.

It begs the question: How do you boast about a home’s location in an objective and quantifiable manner?

Simple – Walk Score.

Walk Score is an organization that, according to its websites, believes ”walkable neighborhoods with access to public transit, better commutes, and proximity to the people and places you love are the key to a happier, healthier and more sustainable lifestyle.” Homes and apartments are rated on a scale of a 1-100 — 100 being most desirable.

This week, Walk Score unveiled its 2014 scores which are searchable by address at Additionally, you can find out if your neighborhood made the 2004 list of Walker’s Paradise Neighborhoods by going here.
