Unique performance characteristics of Ultrex fiberglass mean darker finishes like ebony will look flawless for decades

FARGO, N.D. – Integrity Windows and Doors has added its popular ebony exterior finish color, previously only available on its All Ultrex products, to the list of color options available on its Wood-Ultrex line.

Wood-Ultrex windows and doors combine the unmatched performance of an Ultrex fiberglass exterior to protect against the elements with the traditional look of a handcrafted wood interior. It’s a powerful blend of classic styling and advanced construction technology designed to give windows a beautiful look that lasts for decades.

“Integrity developed and began using Ultrex pultruded fiberglass 18 years ago as a superior alternative to vinyl that was not only durable and beautiful but could showcase — and maintain — darker colors like ebony,” said Julie Frana, Product Marketing Manager at Integrity Windows and Doors. “Now you can have the look of a dramatically black window or door without having to worry about chalking or fading.”

The patented Ultrex finish process is three times thicker than competitive finishes to resist scratching and marring. It also provides five times the UV resistance to protect against fading, chalking, streaking and cracking. Ultrex fiberglass itself, created by a patented pultrusion process, is eight times as strong as vinyl and has the tensile strength of steel. The toughness of Ultrex also allows for a unique thinner profile, allowing Integrity windows and doors to have an attractive profile that works well for contemporary or traditional homes or buildings.

The ebony finish is available on Integrity’s latest window features, such as Wood-Ultrex Special Size Windows, Brick Mould and Flat Exterior Trim and divided lite options. Other exterior colors available on the Wood-Ultrex line include stone white, cashmere, pebble gray, bronze and evergreen.

Keeping its commitment of manufacturing window and door products that are Built to Perform®, Integrity’s Wood-Ultrex ebony exterior finish, and all of our other finishes, is AAMA 623-10 certified and is listed on the exclusive AAMA Verified Components List for 623-10, 624-10 and 625 10 — a claim the competitors can’t match. This includes passing rigorous tests for impact, abrasion and cleaner resistance, plus extreme cold and oven testing. It’s further proof Integrity windows and doors are best in class.

“The ebony finish will stay beautiful for years to come. Ultrex is virtually maintenance-free for homeowners and has a very low rate of call-backs for builders,” Frana said. “And it’s not just the product’s performance that’s exceptional: Like all Integrity products, ebony-finished Wood-Ultrex windows and doors are delivered to the dealer within 10 days of ordering, letting builders and homeowners worry about more important things. You really can’t do better than Ultrex for a beautiful dark exterior finish like ebony.”
